Wood construction at the highest level
made in Europe

FEEL WOOD solid wood floorboards are produced from a solid piece of wood from sustainable forestry. Through a series of small details in the production technology, the solid wood plank becomes a precisely fitting solid wood parquet for generations.

Unique properties
of solid wood floorboards

The FEEL WOOD solid wood floorboard has tongue and groove all around, which allows for time- and cost-saving endless installation. A microfiber on all sides underlines the typical product character of the planks. Relief grooves prevent excessive bowling, a small gap in the groove and tongue cheeks increases the accuracy of fit. The surface is closed and finely sanded. An extensive range of high-quality, durable and ecological surface treatments is offered at the factory.

Wood is a hygroscopic material and reacts to the moisture in its surroundings. The dimensions of the boards change as moisture is absorbed and released. A distinction is made according to changes in length and width, and within width according to tangential or radial incision (lying or standing annual rings).

The swelling and shrinkage behavior in length is negligible; in width it varies depending on the type of wood and incision. If the moisture content of the wood decreases, the wood shrinks and joints appear in the floor. With a residual moisture reduction of 5% and an average swelling and shrinkage of 0.25%, this results in 1.25%. With a board width of 128 mm, 1.25% results in approx. 1.6 mm joints. These values are averaged; they can vary slightly depending on the type of wood, growth area and annual rings of the planks (edge or core area).

The FEEL WOOD solid wood floorboards are delivered with a residual moisture content of 9% (+/-2%). At a room temperature of approx. 20°C and a relative humidity of 50 to 65%, this corresponds to the moisture content of the wood. With this moisture we guarantee a high level of accuracy. If these values are adhered to, no significant joint formation is to be expected.
