Thank you, Manfred Golob! 30 years of passion for wood at FEEL WOOD.

After 30 years, during which he not only sold countless solid wood planks, but also played a key role in shaping the FEEL WOOD family, Manfred Golob, our expert in sales and production management, is taking his well-deserved retirement. Manfred is someone who has helped build the FEEL WOOD brand, always ready to take responsibility and find innovative solutions. His colleagues and friends at FEEL WOOD bid him farewell with warm words, a smile and a tear.

Manfred, you’ve been with us since the start of production in 1994. How did your journey with FEEL WOOD begin and what inspired you to go into the wood industry?

Manfred Golob (smiling): As a carpenter, wood has always been my element. I was fortunate to have the opportunity to take on responsibility at FEEL WOOD right from the start and to work with such a great team. Together, we not only produced floorboards, but also created values – and these values will always be with me.

Walter Gosch (colleague for many years): Manfred was a reliable and dependable colleague. He consistently demonstrated an ability to identify solutions to a wide range of challenges, from minor issues to complex projects. His ability to think strategically and maintain composure in high-pressure situations was highly valued by all of us. His absence will be felt greatly.

What were the biggest challenges during your time at FEEL WOOD, and how did you overcome them?

Manfred Golob: It was a significant challenge to produce planks in a way that meets the requirements of modern times, particularly in light of the increased use of central and underfloor heating. We had to develop an alternative to the traditional ‘ship’s floor’, which often involved joints and complex installation procedures. We overcame these challenges through innovative solutions and a high level of creativity.

Marco Umfahrer (colleague): Despite my recent appointment to the team, I was immediately impressed by Manfred’s extensive knowledge and his calm, confident manner. He was held in high regard by customers and colleagues alike.

Please describe a project or achievement that you are particularly proud of.

Manfred Golob: We have received positive customer feedback on numerous projects. The most valuable feedback is the satisfaction derived from customers experiencing the quality of our flooring first-hand. I am especially pleased to have received the ÖKO-TEST award with the rating of ‘VERY GOOD’. This was not only a confirmation of our work, but also a personal milestone for me. This demonstrates that our dedication to quality and sustainability has not gone unnoticed.

Christian Loidl, Managing Director: Manfred has consistently demonstrated a commitment to quality and sustainability at FEEL WOOD. His commitment and expertise have been instrumental in the company’s development. He was not only a successful salesperson, but also a trusted partner with whom long-term relationships were built. On behalf of the entire FEEL WOOD team, I would like to express our sincerest gratitude to Manfred for his invaluable contributions to our company.

Please describe any notable innovations or trends in the wood and flooring industry that you have observed during your career.

Manfred Golob: One of the most encouraging and satisfying developments in recent years has been the growing demand for low-emission and pollutant-free materials in residential construction. There is a growing demand from consumers for healthy and sustainable living environments, and this is a development that has inspired us at FEEL WOOD from the very beginning. We identified the importance of developing products that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also enhance indoor air quality, thereby improving our customers’ well-being. At FEEL WOOD, we are committed to meeting these needs and are proud to be at the forefront of this pioneering field.

Serafin Campestrini, Managing Director: Manfred was a role model of honesty and transparency in business. He did more than just sell products; he advised customers with patience and expertise, demonstrating the advantages and special features of our products. This combination of expertise and openness is a defining feature of FEEL WOOD. We would like to express our gratitude to him for his many years of loyalty, commitment and passion.

What will you miss most when you retire? Please also indicate what you are looking forward to the most.

Manfred Golob: The aspect I will miss the most is the daily dialogue with my colleagues and customers. I have always found this community to be a source of motivation. I am also eager to dedicate more time to my family, travel, and pursue my personal interests. I may also engage in some home improvement projects, as it is important for a retired carpenter to remain active (laughs).

A big thank you to Manfred

Manfred Golob was a key figure at FEEL WOOD. His expertise, calm approach and attention to detail have shaped the company. Colleagues and superiors agree: without Manfred, FEEL WOOD would not be what it is today.

Thank you, Manfred, for all these years – for your tireless work, your values and your humour!
